
During Global Week II, students who participated in the Miyako Visit, Blue Peco, Aoyama Second Chance, and Philippine Visit Programs conducted a variety of activities.
◆ Miyako visit program ◆
In Global Week II, students who visited Miyako City, in Iwate Prefecture, during summer vacation for our Miyako visit program conducted a worship, held a report meeting, and had a roundtable discussion party.
- Miyako visit program report meeting –
During lunch break, we held a meeting introducing exhibits and videos created by the students who participated in the Miyako visit program. In addition, sea-vegetable soup - a Miyako City specialty was served and more than 200 students gathered to deepen their understanding of the Miyako disaster.
- A roundtable discussion on thinking about “community revival” in Miyako -
After school we held a round-table discussion about "What a community is to you?". Group discussions were also held on the theme of "How would you be more involved in your community?" and then the answers given by each group were summarized and shared with the whole group.
◆ Blue Peco ◆
The student self-learning group named Blue Peco led our worship and some additional programs throughout the week.
-East Timor Coffee Tasting -
During lunch break, we held a coffee tasting session and all participants drank East Timor Coffee, while thinking about how to connect with the coffee farmers. On this day, 500 cups of coffee were prepared and distributed. At the time of the tasting session, a demonstration on how to hand-drip coffee was given by the students and then some fair trade drip coffee bags were sold.

After school an Aoyama Gakuin University student from The School of Global Studies and Collaboration and students from Blue Peco had a discussion comparing East Timor and Thailand’s coffee industries and how we can support these farmers in the future.
◆ Philippines Visit Program ◆

In the spring of this year, students participated in the Philippine visit program, which is an Aoyama Gakuin Collaborative Project. These students reported and briefed our current students who wish to participate in next year's program during Global WeekⅡ. From their visit, they shared what they learned and about the current situation of the Philippine children who are supported by our high school, and lastly what changed after their visit.
◆ Aoyama Second Chance ◆
- ‘No More Food Loss’ Game Workshop -
Through the card game called "No more Food Loss Game", students learned about the factors and solutions to food loss and wastage. In addition, the members of Aoyama Second Chance talked about what we can do to create a "future without fear of not having enough food to eat".
