The "2018 Super Global High School (SGH) National High School Forum", which is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the University of Tsukuba, was held in Tokyo on December 15th, 2018.
On December 15th, 123 nationally designated SGH schools, and 18 associate and representative students from 5 high schools in the Tokyo metropolitan area, worked together on solving global social issues by giving a variety of poster presentation sessions and discussions in English. Solutions and proposals for business issues were also discussed in English.
From our school, four representatives from the student self-learning group Blue Peco participated and conducted a poster session entitled "Attempts to Improve the Literacy Rate of East Timor Farm Villagers Using a Japanese Traditional Game Named Karuta".
The students shared their experiences about using Karuta to improve literacy rates of purils in the countryside during their visit to East Timor.
In addition, our school’s poster presentation was voted as the most interesting by all the students who participated!
This was a great day because so many students from around the nation were able to share and gather information about solving international social issues.
