Canada Homestay Program②
report

【Day 4】

Today,
we went sightseeing around Toronto. We had a great time visiting several sites
including the famous CN Tower, the city halls, and a local market. The students
especially enjoyed shopping in the Toronto Eaton Center shopping mall!

【Day 5】
In the morning, we visited a senior citizen’s home that our school has been visiting for 18 years. With the help of the Canadian buddies, our students enjoyed communicating with the residents, performing a song for them, and showing them how to do origami and ayatori. We had lunch in a local park, before heading to Georgian College where that evening’s farewell party would be held. From around 17:30 the host families began to gather, and we had a lovely party all together with activities led by the students. They also performed a traditional Japanese soran dance that they had been practicing since before we left Japan. There was a lovely and friendly atmosphere and everyone had a great time.

【Day 6】

Today
was the last day on our lovely yellow school bus with our Canadian buddies! We
started the day with a trek leading to Collingwood’s Scenic Caves. Later we
went to the Blue Mountain Village, which is an all-year-round mountain resort.
The students enjoyed various athletic activities with their Canadian buddies.

The students spent their final weekend with their host families. Luckily, Monday was a holiday in Ontario, so the students could spend a 3-day weekend doing various activities with their families!

【帰国の日】

We
all met at the usual meeting point for the last time. There were lots of hugs,
photos, smiles and tears as the students said their goodbyes to their host
families. Finally, everyone got on the coach and we began the journey back to
Japan!
