From
September 30th to October 7th we held the second Global Week of 2019. This time the overall theme was “Get Connected 2: Community regeneration”.
During
the daily worship time, we had many special speakers.
First, students who participated
in our Miyako Exchange Program and students from the East Timor Study Tour
shared their experiences.
In addition, we had two wonderful guest speakers: Mr.
Eisuke Kanda from the NGO “Friends with the Voiceless International (FVI)”, and
Mr. Kazuma Momoi, a photographer and non-fiction writer.
During lunchtimes and after school we held various events ranging from briefings to hands-on workshops.
These events included the Miyako Program Report and Roundtable, East Timor Coffee Tasting, World Education Considered by High School Students, The World’s Largest Class, and the Philippines Program Christmas Letter Writing and Video Event.
Many of these events were planned, organized, and led by the students.
