2019 Global Week 2: Days 3 and 4

[Kazuma Momoi Workshop]

Mr. Kazuma Momoi, a photojournalist, non-fiction writer, and special-appointed professor at Keisen Jogakuin University, held a workshop during lunchtime. 

This event was extremely popular. The room was filled within minutes of opening, and by the time the event started, it was standing room only! 

Mr. Momoi’s workshop touched on the Olympics, his experiences traveling in 140 countries, and how learning about Christianity can equate to leaning about the world.

During lunch, three active student groups gave poster presentations and large group presentations about their activities.


  • The Philippines Program group updated on their efforts to implement a “one class one child” policy, in which each homeroom in the school will support a child’s education.

  • Blue Peco, a student self-study group, talked about their efforts to help raise literacy rates in areas of East Timor focused on the coffee trade.

  • Free the Children Japan talked about their activities as part of an international cooperation group for children by children.

Using materials provided by an educational NGO, 3rd year students became teachers and led their fellow students through an active learning workshop focusing on the topic of poverty and education.
