We conducted an International Exchange and Study Abroad collaboration orientation
report

On January 9, 2019, we conducted an International Exchange and a study abroad preparation program.

This program is organized in cooperation with the Aoyama Gakuin University International Exchange Center.

This program is organized in cooperation with the Aoyama Gakuin University International Center and is held every year for high school students who are thinking about studying in a foreign university and who hope to have a career in a globalized society.

This orientation consisted of two parts; firstly, we had an information session about university study abroad programs and secondly we had an IELTS course briefing and speaking practices with a native English instructor. (IELTS is one of the official English proficiency tests required for the qualification.)

In the first session, students were informed by the University's International Center staff about our school’s university study abroad program and a brief presentation was given by two students who have recently returned from studying abroad.

These two students, who just returned from the United States and Hungary, shared their experiences of living abroad, what they learned from their experiences, and how they feel now that they have returned.

The second part of the session was an explanation of the IELTS test by the British Council testing department and an IELTS lecture was given by a native English speaker.

In the demonstration lesson, the students learned how to study for the IELTS test and how to practice for the speaking section of the IELTS examination in pairs and groups.

Our next High School Collaboration Program will welcome a guest from the Canadian Embassy, which celebrated its 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Japan recently, and they will have a presentation about diversity and multiculturalism.
