Leys School Study Abroad Program
report

A week has passed since our students arrived in England.

The students have begun classes in school in conjunction with the Leys students. Every day they are getting used to their new school lives, receiving lessons in geography, biology, and participating in common UK sports activities such as hockey and netball.

In addition to learning about the UK, our students have taken this opportunity to introduce Japan to their new classmates. They have taught origami, simple Japanese greetings, and even instructed some of the Leys students how to write their names in hiragana.

Through these cultural and language exchanges, all our students are receiving a great opportunity to deepen interactions with the Leys school students.

In addition, the reception party presentation, which was given by our students to the Leys teachers and host families, received many compliments. The presentation began by explaining high school life in Japan and but also touched on various topics such as Japanese world heritage sites and transportation systems.

During the excursion to the center of Cambridge, students could see the cities long history because of the stone streetscapes and the buildings that are still standing since the cities founding. They were able to enjoy a beautiful walk around the university campus and could overlook the city from the tower of a church.
