Global Week Ⅱ began
report

Global WeekⅡwas held from the 1st to the 5th of October.

In our second Global Week, we organized various events with the theme of "Get Connected; Achieve Community Rebirth” and had time to think about many interesting topics.

During our daily worship time, students who participated in the "Miyako Visit Program" and the "East Timor Study Tour" talked about their experiences abroad during this year’s summer vacation. They shared what they learned in their programs and what they thought can be done by our school in the future. In addition, we invited Mr. Eisuke Kanda from the NGO "Friends with the Voiceless," and Mr. Kanou Yamamoto, a former UN official, to share their thoughts with us as special guests.

Various events and workshops were also held during lunch breaks and after school.

In the "Philippine Visit Program Briefing", the "Miyako Visit Program Meeting & Roundtable Discussion", the "East Timor Coffee Tasting Event", and "No More Food Loss Game Workshop" by Aoyama Second Chance, students took advantage of what the participants of these programs have learned and attended meetings where all these wonderful experiences could be shared and discussed.

In addition, three special guests had workshops to help students experience on specific topics; Mr. Kanda had “Tangled Peer Pressure in a Takotsubo Society” workshop; and Mr. Yamamoto and Ms. Yamazaki had a workshop called “Peacebuilding and International Community Revitalization in terms of UN” workshop.

An Aoyama Gakuin University student from the Faculty of Coexistence of Global Society and students from Blue Peco had a discussion comparing East Timor and Thailand’s coffee industries.

In addition, on the final day, we invited nine international students from Aoyama Gakuin University to exchange opinions with our students during a Special Chat Room about the theme of "community and volunteering".
